Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Available 3/2/2018 Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!****** Barry, cocker spaniel 15 lbs, male. My name is Barry & I am a male cocker spaniel puppy who weighs 15lbs. Unfortunately the beginning of my story was a very rough one, I was in a death shelter in Korea until a wonderful Korean rescue got me out to save my little 9 month old life! Now my future is oh so bright! I will be very well traveled and will be a USA citizen , looking for my loving forever home who will cherish me. My foster family in Korea taught me to take treats ... (Read More)nicely. I know stay, sit and wait until it is time to take my treat. I love people and other dogs. I am super smart & have been using potty pads. I really enjoy toys that intrigue me, I play fetch (I have the time of my life with it), and I also find hidden treats my foster mum has hidden for me to play games with. Of course I am still a puppy who is very curious about everything! And me being a puppy, I still need work on my potty training and a new family who will continue to work with me on training in all areas of my little life. I need a home where it is mandatory for another dog to be in the home with me to play with and my family needs to be at home. I also do well with children who are respectful, but have I have not been around cats. I will be getting neutered by laser, chipped, up to date on all my shots, heart worm negative, had a titer test done which means I have no tick borne diseases. I was dewormed twice and treated for cocidia & giardia. To be considered to be my new family you must meet all the requirements listed above. An application must be submitted at aberdeenstr.com for me. My rescue cannot respond to every application, as they are working extremely hard to find myself, and all my other dog friends they rescued, their loving forever homes too. I have an adoption fee of $680, could you be my new forever family? __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. When submitting an application, Please be 100% certain that you are committed to completing the adoption process. This includes having all household members in agreement of the dog adoption and being prepared to complete the adoption once approved. We are committed to placing each dog in the very best home possible. As an all volunteer rescue we spend several hours vetting and approving each applicant and every minute spent working on applicants that are not prepared to complete the adoption takes us away from saving another dogs life. This truly is a life and death matter for these precious souls. Thank you for your understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.     YES, I'M AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!****** Poor Loki - this is one sad tail. His family dropped him off at a extremely high kill shelter at the age of 10 in California. The state he was dropped off in was an absolute mess. Loki's time had run out in the shelter, so with open arms we took him into the rescue to save his life. We got him to our vets, and the litany of medical care this poor guy needed was heartbreaking. He needed his eye removed immediately, he had a raging ear infection, his teeth were an absolute ... (Read More)mess( he needed to have10 complex teeth removed), and his remaining good eye needed medication. The poor little man was a smelly matted mess, too, and was given a good bath and grooming. After everything Loki had done medically, and all the care he needed, he is still the sweetest gentleman. He has adjusted well to the removal of his eye. His remaining eye will need continued monitoring and medication to maintain his current vision. While he struggles to track a toy if you toss it, he can certainly find it by its squeaks! Loki lives with other dogs in his foster home, and he will come running if they are squeaking a toy as well! Loki also has an excellent nose to go with his hearing, and will come jaunting to the sound of a treat bag! He loves all things snack as well as soft comfy beds. Did we mention he loves squeaky toys? And snacks? Loki also loves to sleep on or at the feet of his people and he will make an excellent companion to someone who wants a snuggle partner. Loki will need to go to a home where people are present during the day & it would be nice for him to have another dog in the home for companionship. He will also need a home who understands all of our rescues do need work with their potty training. This little guy is neutered, chipped, up to date on all his shots, just had a major dental, heart worm negative & looking for a quiet home who will cherish this little man. Loki has an adoption fee of $450 & this fee does not even cover half of his medical care alone. Like most dogs in our rescue, Loki will need help with potty training. ----------------------------------------------------------- **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption.     YES, I'M AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!**** Rudolph 2 years old Yorkshire terrier This is the extremely sad tail of Rudolph the 3 year old male Yorkshire terrier, he was scheduled to be put to sleep & if we did not commit to him he was going to be pts. Rudolph had been mauled severely by another dog & the shelter stated he had puncture wounds & abscesses on his body & cheeks that needed immediate medical attention so we of course said yes. We got Rudolph to our vets & got him immediate medical attention & it was ... (Read More)discovered with 2 x-rays that he had been mauled & had bite marks all over his tiny little body which showed up as air bubbles everywhere from the puncture wounds. So Rudolph had to be bandaged up & given antibiotics & given some time to recover even though his wounds actually were old. Rudolph is now neutered, up to date on his shots, heart worm negative, chipped & still has to wear his bandages for a little while longer. What we have discovered about Rudolph is he is absolutely adorable & was a very spoilt little fellow, he would cry to sleep in the bed with the foster mum, he had absolutely no doggy manners whatsoever & will need work on training & house training & did hate crates. But his new foster mum in WA did teach him with his doggy manners & did teach him that a crate is just fine to travel in. We did believe originally he should be an only dog because he has no boundaries but with the help & work of his foster mum she also helped turn that around. He should not go to a home with children but we do not know how he is around cats. He has the personality & energy of a cheeky little dog who is extremely lovable & needs work. Poor Rudolph sadly will be coming back into the rescue as his new family who adopted him have had a health situation arise & they are completely devastated & so broken about returning Rudolph to the rescue but they physically will not be able to care for this little man so he will be looking for a new forever home once again. Rudolph can only go to a home where the people are present all day & willing to work with him. Rudolph has an adoption fee of $600. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption.     YES, I'M AVAILABLE! ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION at www.aberdeenstr.com before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!****** The lovely Allie and her absolutely adorable puppies came from a high-kill shelter in California and needed out because they were in danger of being euthanized. All of Allie's puppies have gone to their forever homes, and now it is time for her to find her happily ever after. This sweet mama is around 2 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and she has been dewormed and microchipped. She gets along well with other dogs and older children, but we haven't had her around cats yet, ... (Read More)so we're not sure what she thinks of them. Given her docile nature, we think she would do well in a home with a cat. Allie is very sweet, gentle, and eager for attention but is slow to warm up and trust. She most likely spent a significant amount of time as a stray and is initially timid. Once she warms up to you, she loves being by your side and wants affection. She is very playful and loves plush squeaky toys. Allie has really come out of her shell in her foster home but still isn't very comfortable being picked up. She hasn't been taught to walk on a leash yet. She's food motivated and eager to please her people, so she will respond well to training in her forever home. She has good manners, takes food gently, and doesn't show any food aggression. Allie knows to go potty as soon as she goes outside or on the potty pad inside. Like most dogs in our rescue, Allie will need work on house and obedience training. Allie must go to a home where people are present and there is another playful dog in the home. Allie has an adoption fee of $625. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Rescue Me ID: 17-12-10-00434Zoe (female)

Maltese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Look at this sweet little lady Zoe, a whole 7 lbs of her, well under the care of the foster mum she is gaining weight. This sweet 4 year old Maltese mix we believe came to us pure skin & bones, scary thin. Your whole hand fit around her tiny frail frame. We were asked to take Zoe into our rescue from a kill shelter in CA, & we know why this little lady was a shelter favorite. We were told that she had a uti or possibly bladder stones but our vet quickly realized after 2 x-rays & medication that this sweet little lady has nerve damage down near her tail & second vertebrae. Our vet also discovered that she only has a nub for a tail. We do not ... (Read More)know if man did this to Zoe or she was born this way? It was also discovered that she has slight symptoms of a luxated patella on her right side but is showing no signs of it. Zoe is a 4 year old female, 7 lbs, up to date on her shots, chipped, spayed, just had a dental & is heart worm negative. This little lady will need a very kind, dedicated special home as she is incontinent & needs to wear a nappy or belly band due to having no control over her bodily functions because of the nerve damage. That being said she runs around & plays with the other dogs & cats & loves people & is being fostered with a family with teenagers who she also adores. Please only apply for Zoe if you are committed to being her forever home with her incontinent issues & not just because you see a very adorable little angel. Zoe is a life long commitment. She must go to a home with other dogs present in the home & with people present in the home. This little lady is full of so much love & joy & was a picky eater when she first joined our rescue but the foster mum has certainly turned that around. Zoe is such a special little lady! Please do not apply just because you see a precious little girl, she truly needs someone who will be fully committed to her and her needs. Zoe has an adoption fee of $575. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Thanks for your cooperation!****** The very sad tail of Honeybee who at the age of 12 years old was dropped off at a extremely high kill shelter in such very poor shape by her owner. We seen how bad a shape she was in & her time had run out. We got her out & medically she needed the works. Her fur was barely there, her skin was an absolute mess from neglect, poor nutrition & possible flea infestation. We had to get Honeybee healthy before she could be put under anesthesia. Her skin had a skin scraping done, ... (Read More)she still gets medicated baths, she got meds & a good healthy diet then she was well enough to go under to get her dental. Her teeth were so very bad, she had extractions & major extractions. While under it was discovered that her ears were a mess so she also had to have her ears flushed. Honeybee's foster mum has discovered that this sweet lady is deaf & sometimes off in her own world. She is also spayed, weighs 13.2 lbs, a poodle terrier mix, chipped up to date on her shots & loves to eat. She is currently being fostered with other dogs, she should not go to a home with children because of being deaf & needs to go to a home where other dogs are present & someone is always present in the home. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-06-00358Andrew & Lohdi (male)

Scottish Terrier    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

YES, I'M AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!*** Andrew and Lohdi are a sweet bonded pair looking for their forever home together. Andrew is an 11 year old Scottish terrier who weighs 42 pounds and his buddy Lohdi is a 9 year old terrier mix who weighs 40 pounds. Lohdi is the pack leader and Andrew relies on him, so they must be adopted together. They both get along great with other dogs. We haven't had them around cats or children, so we're not sure what they think of them. There was a listing online for a Scottie needing ... (Read More)a home so one of our volunteers reached out and spoke to their previous owner. Unfortunately, the previous owner's husband had passed away and she could no longer care for these two charming boys. She had people lined up to adopt Andrew the Scottie, but it didn't work out and we said of course we would take him into our rescue. She also asked if we would we take his friend as well. When we heard that they were bonded, we promised not separate them and to find them a loving home together. We had these two lovebugs picked up and brought to our vets. We soon discovered that both dogs had masses that had to be removed immediately and they desperately needed to be groomed. Poor Andrew had several masses removed near his anus and one under his belly. Lohdi also had to have a mass removed. Their masses were sent away for biopsies and came back benign. This silly affectionate pair is ready to find the loving forever home they deserve. Like all rescue dogs, they will need house training and obedience training. Andrew & Lohdi have an adoption fee of $1000. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Rescue Me ID: 17-09-27-00004Maise & Coco(Bonded) (female)

Scottish Terrier    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

YES, WE'RE AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!****** Maise & Coco are a bonded pair. These 13 year old girls are full of life and still have lots of love left to give. We received a message on facebook that asked for our help with these two sweethearts. The young girl's mother died & she could not keep them, so of course we did not want these two sweethearts to end up in the shelter, so we helped them out. Maise & Coco are very bonded and they have to be adopted together. They are 13 years old, have never been separated and ... (Read More)we will not allow them to be adopted to a home where they will be separated. They have never known another home besides the one they have been in for 13 years, and are currently in a foster home with two other scotties. Maise is super sweet 21.2lb scottie. Once she warms up to you, she is very loving and likes attention. She loves being petted on and getting affection, but she sometimes gets a little scared if you approach from behind. She will also turn and nip a little when you pick her up, so we think they might have had stairs or pet furniture so they may have not been picked up often. She definitely has the scottie temperament if she is in the mood! It would be good if she went to a home that has the time to make them the center of attention(these girls will eat it up!). They enjoy being with other dogs that are mellow and low in energy, they get along well with the foster's other dogs. Maise also enjoys being outside and have a yard to investigate, they really love being outside and get a lot of energy to run around in the grass! She also doesn't seem to be a heavy barker. We also just discovered that Maise has cushings & she will be on vetoryl for the remainder of her life. the cost for the treatment of this will be approximately $50 per month. Coco is an 18.2lb doxie love that also enjoys all of your attention. She has a very good appetite, and as such she is a little overweight, but with time and attention she can be back to a normal weight. Even though she is on the larger size, she still has got some moves and energy to run around the backyard with Maise! We also think that Coco may not had much experience getting picked up, as she yelps when you pick her up, even if she is asking for it or asking for help up on furniture. Other than that she is not a large barker. Coco is such a little dear though, she wants nonstop attention and will put her head under your hand until she tires you out. She prefers to be right next to you at all times, you can definitely see she is a genuine lap dog. We took them to our vet and got them all fixed up, unfortunately they needed a lot of work done, over $1800 worth. They are getting healthy again with us, as Maise got updated on her shots, chipped, had to get an exploratory surgery to see if she was spayed(she was), she needed a dental & polish, along with 9 teeth removed. Coco needed to be spayed, she was actually in heat when we got her at her 13 years of age. She also received a dental, with 5 teeth removed. Coco also had a mass removal, and we got her updated on her shots, chipped, and she was also treated for a bad ear infection. Like most dogs in our rescue, Maise will need work on potty training. Maise & Coco have an adoption fee of $950 and they MUST be adopted together. They are a bonded pair and never far from each other at all times. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats

YES, I'M AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!****** Lizzie is a sweet poodle/terrier mix with so much love to give! She is 5 years old and was in a high kill shelter where she had run out of time and needed to be saved. It was clear that Lizzie just had puppies recently, where her puppies were we did not know, but we did know she had been in the shelter for a very long time. We got her out of the shelter and little Lizzie was so very sick with pneumonia. She spent 11-14 days in the hospital, she was treated with multiple ... (Read More)antibiotics, daily breathing treatments, and x-ray's to constantly check on her health. It was then discovered that she has a grade 3 out of 6 heart murmur. She was treated for skin allergies and she may need a dental later on. Unfortunately, the recovery time for pneumonia is 2 months and she cannot undergo anesthesia for 6 months no matter what the reason, unless it is to save her life. If she did, it could trigger pneumonia again, so the dental will have to wait. Lizzie is so loving and playful, loves playing with other dogs, and she is a super high jumper. She will need a home that will be willing to make sure she gets exercise each day. She loves walks and does well on a leash. Lizzie is super affectionate. She gives kisses and loves to cuddle. Shec always wants to be with her people. Lizzie would do best in a home with other dogs present and where people are home during the day. She gets along best with submissive male dogs. Lizzie hasn't had any accidents in her foster home, but may need work on house training in a new environment.
